News: Gene Therapy Drug Approval to Skyrocket by 2025
The FDA expects to approve 10 to 20 cell and gene therapy products a year within the next six years, and is hiring 50 more clinical reviewers to make it happen, the agency announced Jan. 15: "The FDA is witnessing a surge of cell and gene therapy products entering early development, evidenced by a large upswing in the number of investigational new drug (IND) applications. Based on this activity, we anticipate that the number of product approvals for cell and gene therapies will grow in the coming years, reflecting significant scientific advancement and the clinical promise of these new innovations."

Update: Gene Therapy Market Products
Gene Therapy Net has updated the website with a complete new section describing all known gene therapy products that are on the market worldwide. Information is given on for instance Glybera, Yescarta, Stimvelis and Gendicine. Take a look and inform us if you have any news to share.

Warning: Possible fake conferences
Gene Therapy Net has strong indications that several conferences are a scam. Previously we highlighted the International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (March 20-21 London) and the 2nd International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (April 15-16 Milan). Both are organized by Allied Academies with a vague reputation. There is no venue, detailed program and speakers on the list are not aware of this meeting. This is also for the Excellence: The Cell and Gene Therapy Conclave (March 20-21, London). Please be careful!

Conference: 4th Innate Killer Summit
The 4th Innate Killer Summit (March 19-21, San Diego) is an annual industry meeting providing a platform for leaders in the NK field to network, interact and learn at the only end-to-end meeting that fosters the transformation of leading science to commercial therapies.

As the understanding of NK cells improves year on year, the challenges of producing effective NK cell therapies are top priorities to overcome. Manufacturing processes need to be streamlined and regulatory landscapes better understood. It is imperative that we can come together to exchange ideas to overcome the hurdles of getting the best immunotherapies to patients in need.

In addition to accessing cutting-edge novel innovations and the latest clinical data, leave the Innate Killer Summit fully equipped to progress your NK cell therapy pipeline with a forward-looking plan for global manufacturing.

Conference: 6th World Congress on Human Genetics and Genetic Diseases
Human Genetics Meeting 2019 invites all the participants from all over the world to attend 6th World Congress on Human Genetics and Genetic Diseases, composed of theme- “Know the current generation to save the future generation” is during April 08-10 in Abu Dhabi, UAE which includes prompt keynote presentations, Oral talks, Poster presentations and Exhibitions. Use the promotion code GENE%25# to get 25% discount.

Conference: CAR-T Congress Boston USA
The fourth annual CAR-T congress USA (April 16-17, Boston) is bringing together the leading pharmaceutical companies, the disruptive biotechs and pioneering academic institutions to assess emerging novel data and tackle the current challenges including antigen discovery, manufacturing scalability and efficacy.

Join discussions with Dr Alessandro Riva, Dr Christina Coughlin and Dr Leonard Lichtenfeld to determine how we avoid cheaper and more potent biologics hindering the progress of CAR-T, how we effectively edit T cells at scale, and how the industry is pushing for patient access to accelerate your CAR-T pipelines.

Conference: Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products
PDA Europe’s ATMPs conference (June 4-5, Vilnius, Lithuania) has become a fixture in the calendar for all professionals of the pharmaceutical industry working in the field of cell and gene therapy-based drug products.

The conference offers a professional discussion forum for current themes around Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products. PDA invites representatives from the industry, research organizations, and regulatory authorities to discuss the many challenges involved in the development, testing, production, and registration of ATMPs - the most innovative and important field for advancement of our community.
